(Three return just to separate it good from the beginning of the story)

(indent first line five spaces)  If there was one thing he believed, it was do it to the best of his ability, do it with a smile on his face, and do it with all of the joy in his heart.  That was his motto for Tuesday.

That’s why he was here now, excitement vibrating through him.  Or maybe it was the fact he could feel them drawing near.  Twice a week he was here, waiting, watching, anticipating what was to come.

His very being, his existence depended on what was about to happen.

     He rocked back slightly.

The wind was rough today, but it wouldn’t stop him.  He followed his motto and believed in it with every fiber of his being.  It was up to him to see the job done.  People depended on him.

The sun poked its head up over the horizon, the first rays of dawn striking him as he waited for his mission to be accomplished.

     It wouldn’t be long now.

The road vibrated, sending small ripples through him as the truck approached. But what was that?  Something else was determined to intervene first.

     A cat.

Frowning, he watched the feline amble his way.

A cat could ruin it for him.  He watched the stealthy approach as the cat sniffed the air, glanced around for anyone else who might be watching for it and then, to his relief, watched as the feline settled on the yard next to him.

    Poor Larry.

Larry was the target this week.

He detested cats.  They made his job so much harder.  It was a matter of pride to be here, as he was, waiting, doing  his job to the best of his ability.

The End
